On Thursday, 20 March 2025, Kgalagadi Breweries Limited (KBL) hosted a high-level stakeholder engagement and brewery tour at its Clear Beer Plant in Broadhurst Industrial, Gaborone, ahead of World Water Day, which is globally observed on 22 March.
Themed under KBL’s “Cheers to Nature” initiative, the event brought together senior government officials, including Minister of Trade and Entrepreneurship, Hon. Tiroyaone Ntsima, Assistant Minister Hon. Baratiwa Mathoothe, members of the media, and KBL’s leadership team led by Managing Director Carlos Bernitt.
Guests were taken through a guided tour of the plant to experience how KBL applies smart brewing systems, water recovery techniques, and nature-based solutions—all aligned to AB InBev’s global Water Stewardship mission. From wastewater recycling and rainwater harvesting to collaborative initiatives with national stakeholders, KBL continues to reduce its water footprint while brewing high- quality beer.
The day highlighted that water is more than an ingredient, it is a shared resource we must all protect. As the team echoed throughout the event: “Without water, there is no beer. Without conservation, there is no future.”
