Sustainability
Beer is inclusive, natural, and local. We dream big to create a future with more cheers by building a resilient and agile value chain, fostering sustainable practices, and making a lasting, positive impact in our communities.
Circular Packaging
We take a holistic approach to tackle waste and develop scalable, practical solutions that can be implemented across the value chain. We look for ways to increase recycling rates through the recovery and reuse of materials, and we strive to reduce the amount of virgin material in our packaging while educating consumers on the importance of recycling. We believe that working together with our valued partners is of paramount importance to create a viable and formal green waste economy.
Water Stewardship
Water is the main ingredient in beer. More than just a key ingredient in our products, water is a critical resource for the health and well-being of communities around the world and for our business. So, daily we drive the highest levels of water efficiency in our operations to measurably improve water quality and prevent over usage.
Smart Agriculture
We depend on high-quality agricultural crops from thriving communities and healthy ecosystems to brew our beers.

Beyond the brew
Beyond the Brew is KBL’s Corporate Social Responsibility program, built on the principle that “we thrive when our communities thrive.” Through this initiative, we aim to give back by investing in projects that drive sustainable growth and empowerment in the communities we serve. Each year, we dedicate resources to initiatives that create shared prosperity and uplift the communities we serve.
Through BTB, we have successfully executed, among other things, the painting of 15 houses in Legolo Ward behind the Clear Beer Plant in Gaborone; donation of 100 food packages in Palapye, the hosting of a Men’s Empowerment Conference in Francistown; a community clean-up in Old Naledi, Gaborone, and in–kind donations to community initiatives.
G.R.I.T.
Launched in 2022, the G.R.I.T. (Growing Retailers Innovatively Together) Retailer Development Programme empowers our strategic partners to build sustainable businesses that create long-term value in the communities where they operate. The programme’s business literacy training covers key topics, including the basics of finance, marketing, regulatory compliance, and responsible trading. Since its inception, more than 1,000 bar and bottle store owners have been trained, with women representing an impressive 57% of participants.
